Psychological Effects and Teacher Effectiveness in Classroom Instructional Practices in Schools

Teachers are important elements in pedagogy. Improving their ability to perform better in class based on psychological principles is significantly important in education. Their proficiency in instructional practice will not just remedy the misdemeanors exhibited by students, it will also promote a cordial relationship between parents and the school management. This study has therefore, explored the significance of psychological tenets in enhancing the effectiveness of a classroom teacher. The instructional practices from a psychological and learner’s perspectives and psychologist’s views on teachers’ effectiveness were investigated. The aim of the study was to examine the psychological effects on teaching and learning practices in the classroom. Since a lot of time and efforts were needed in pedagogy, teachers were advised to put in conscientious effort/time in instructional practice. Though teachers might be frustrated because of the demanding nature of teaching, but with commitment, motivation and patience, teachers may get through tough moments. It was then concluded that psychological principles are instrumental to classroom effectiveness.
