Physical Resources Availability and Students Academic Goal Achievement in Public Junior Secondary Schools in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State

This study assessed the level of availability of physical facilities and students’ academic goal achievement in public Junior Secondary Schools in Egor Local Government Area (LGA) of Edo State. Two research questions were raised to guide the study. The entire population of 13 Junior Secondary Schools in Egor LGA formed the sample of the study. The research instruments used in the collection of data for the study were (a) “Junior Secondary Education academic goal achievement questionnaire” (b) Junior Secondary School physical facilities assessment checklist. The data collected were analysed using percentages, mean and standard deviation. The results of the analyses revealed that the level of academic goal achievement by recipients of public Junior Secondary Education in Egor Local Government Area was moderate. The physical facilities for learning were either not available or where available, they were inadequate. Based on the findings, the following recommendations were made. All the schools should be furnished with the required physical resources through proceeds from tax and donations from alumni of the schools.
